In 2025, crypto infrastructure matured, leading to more real-world use cases and increased global adoption. For people around the world, solutions moved from abstract technical wins to steps toward greater financial empowerment.

The year rewarded long-term believers in blockchain with proof that the technology can scale and support meaningful applications. Across the Algorand ecosystem, builders did what they do best - they shipped.

In 2025, new applications launched on mainnet, including a wave of staking options that strengthened network decentralization and expanded opportunities for users. Notable integrations and partnerships made Algo and Algorand-native assets easier to access and use, whether for payments, identity, or real-world financial services. dApps hit some major milestones, shipped more upgrades than we could track, and continued pushing Algorand’s utility forward.

Below is a snapshot of 2025's highlights.

New to mainnet in 2025

A diverse set of applications came online this year, spanning identity, finance, payments, tokenization, AI tooling, and more. Together, they illustrated a core theme of 2025: Web3 as a catalyst for financial empowerment.

Whether through expanded opportunities, greater access to identity and credit, or new ways for people to participate in digital economies, these launches pushed Algorand closer to a world where anyone can engage with modern financial tools on their own terms.

  • Alpha Arcade launched on Algorand mainnet, Algorand’s first prediction market.
  • Mann Deshi launched a digital credit scorecard pilot, designed to support over 400,000 women in India with microloans and financial training.
  • SEWA introduced a digital identity and document-verification system to help millions of women in India access essential services and financial programs.
  • Quantoz launched EURQ and USDQ, MiCA-compliant stablecoins.
  • Haydrops, a permissionless protocol for token drops, launched.
  • Conio partnered with Italian energy giant Enel to tokenize solar panels on Algorand.
  • Shufl DEX went live with unified-orderbook trading across Algorand and major blockchains, powered by Ultrade.
  • Pera Debit Mastercard launched and expanded availability to 12 countries, enabling users to spend USDCa anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
  • BubbaPay payment app launched on mainnet.
  • GoPlausible released a full MCP server for AI agents, plus Algorand Remote MCP, enabling secure agent accounts and full wallet functionality.
  • AlgoGazer became Algorand’s newest block explorer.
  • Digital Vesuvius postcards launched for visitors to Italy’s iconic volcano.
  • WorldChess rolled out The Tower, Intermezzo’s first major use case, in a fully on-chain loyalty program for over 1 million FIDE Online Arena (FOA) players.
  • Casa do Token, a Brazilian tokenization platform, launched on Algorand.
  • Haystack, a mobile-native DeFi app, launched on iOS & Android, with its first two token tranches selling out in under 10 minutes.
  • The WTR token, built on Algorand, was adopted by Gruppo CAP, a public water utility company serving more than 2.5 million residents across 133 municipalities in Italy.
  • Vera launched an on-chain randomness tool.
  • Midas, a fully regulated German tokenization platform, launched the mTBILL token on Algorand.

Staking rewards

Staking rewards launched on Algorand in January 2025, opening new pathways for users and institutions to participate in securing the network and collecting rewards. A wave of platforms, CEXs, and infrastructure providers rolled out ways for anyone to help secure the network while collecting rewards, making participation more accessible than ever.

Users can experience liquid staking and Algorand DeFi through Folks Finance, Tinyman, Messina, and CompX, or explore Pact’s consensus-compatible liquidity pools. Staking pools are available through Nodely’s Reti Pooling, Valar offers delegated staking, and Myth Finance launched dualSTAKE. Exchanges offering Algorand staking include Bitpanda, Bitrue, Binance, and others, while enterprises stake through partners such as Kiln and P2P.org. Users can track their rewards easily via AlgoNodeRewards.com. This progress reinforces a system where participation and value creation are open to all.

Integrations and partnerships

The Foundation fostered several partnerships and integrations across payments, stablecoins, wallets, and exchanges to broaden global access to Algorand and empower more users to participate in open, efficient DeFi infrastructure.

  • Wormhole NTT integration enables multichain interoperability for Algorand.
  • Galxe integrated Algorand for quests with ALGO and USDCa rewards.
  • Paycode partnered with Algorand to bring low-cost, reliable payments to underserved communities across Africa and Afghanistan.
  • Google added Algorand to its Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) alongside major tech and payments giants.
  •  Allbridge integrated a dedicated stablecoin bridge for native stablecoins, such as USDC, to move easily between the Algorand ecosystem and other major blockchains.
  • AIDA trading terminal integrated with Algorand.
  • AEON Pay enabled ALGO & USDCa payments across over 20 million merchants, including McDonald’s and Uniqlo.
  • Users gained the ability to send ALGO on X with a single tweet to @AgentNyla.
  • The Foundation announced an integration with Coinify, enabling consumer payments and merchant settlements using USDC on Algorand.
  • The Foundation and Noah formed a partnership to connect traditional finance and DeFi through seamless, compliant payment infrastructure.
  • ALGO was successfully listed on the LCX exchange

Additional notable integrations include ALGO exchange listings on Robinhood Europe, SBI VC (Japan), and Cointrade (Japan). Telegram enabled ALGO trading for its approximately 1 billion users, Zebec integrated Algo for payroll and global spending via Mastercard, and Nubank, Latin America’s biggest digital bank, added Algo for over 100 million clients.

Each integration is a tangible step toward broader, real-world blockchain adoption on Algorand.

(The Pera wallet team also shipped nonstop – check out their 2025 recap video.)

2025 proved: Builders are gonna build

Algorand’s ecosystem showed what happens when a global community keeps shipping, regardless of market cycles, headlines, or hype.

We saw mainnet launches, new staking options, integrations, enterprise adoption, and real-world impact. In 2026, we see even more reasons to believe in the future we’re building from grounded progress in executing on our Algorand 2025 Roadmap.

2025 was a year of focus, experimentation, and meaningful progress across the ecosystem. If this year is any indication, 2026 is on track to deliver even more pathways to access, opportunity, and financial empowerment.
