CoinDesk: Citi Veteran Launches $1.5B Crypto Fund With Algorand as Strategic Partner

CoinDesk reported that Hivemind Capital Partners, founded by former Citi executive Matt Zhang, has launched a $1.5 billion venture fund to invest in blockchain and digital asset ecosystems. The fund, which includes a play-to-earn gaming arm led by former Goldman Sachs analyst Sam Peurifoy, has selected Algorand as a strategic partner for technology and infrastructure support. Hivemind aims to invest in crypto companies and trade digital assets, focusing on areas such as crypto infrastructure, blockchain protocols, programmable money, and virtual worlds. Zhang emphasized the early potential of blockchain technology and plans to hire and grow the team to advance decentralized solutions.
