CoinDesk: Circle, Coinbase Bring USDC Stablecoin to Algorand's Blockchain

CoinDesk reported that the CENTRE consortium, led by Coinbase and Circle, announced that their U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, USD Coin (USDC), will launch on the Algorand blockchain. This collaboration with the Algorand Foundation aims to support digital dollar stablecoins interoperable with USDC on Algorand’s network, facilitating easy fund transfers from bank accounts or cards into stablecoins. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire emphasized that combining USDC with Algorand will foster scalable, secure, and compliant financial applications.
