CoinDesk reported that FIFA has partnered with Algorand as an official blockchain partner ahead of the World Cup in Qatar this November. Algorand will be a "regional supporter" for North America and Europe at the 2022 World Cup and an official sponsor of the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. This partnership includes providing FIFA with a blockchain-supported wallet and aiding in developing FIFA's digital assets strategy. The collaboration was announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Algorand founder Silvio Micali.
