The New Stack reported on the launch of AlgoKit 2.0, a Python toolkit for blockchain development, allowing developers to write Python applications on Algorand. This update aims to make blockchain development more accessible by providing tools similar to Rust’s Cargo and Swift Package Manager. AlgoKit 2.0 features smart contract templates, local application infrastructure, simplified frontend design, and native Python integration. Previously, developers had to learn Teal, but now they can use Python directly. The foundation plans further upgrades and will host Developer Bootcamps to support developers.
