IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management: Time Estimation for a New Block Generation in Blockchain-Enabled Internet of Things

This paper explores the use of blockchain in an Internet of Things (IoT) network, mainly to address issues of scalability and trust. The authors demonstrate that the type of blockchain used and its data encryption algorithms could affect performance - they name Algorand as one of the blockchains that outperform Ethereum for IoT networks.
