CoinDesk: Algorand Gets Cozy With Crypto Custodian Copper

CoinDesk reported that U.K.-based cryptocurrency custodian Copper has been appointed to safeguard assets on the Algorand blockchain. Copper will support Algorand’s native token, ALGO, and Algorand Standard Assets (ASAs) using its cryptographic key sharding technology, multi-party computation (MPC). Algorand is exploring Copper’s ClearLoop system for instant asset exchange and settlement. Algorand Inc.’s director of business solutions, David Markley, praised Copper for its speed, aligning with Algorand’s focus on efficiency and security. Copper will also manage 4.5 million ASA assets on the blockchain, including stablecoins like USDC and USDT, and tokenized real estate. This partnership enhances Algorand’s asset management capabilities and supports its expanding ecosystem.
