April highlights

April delivered a rotation in network dynamics, capital returned to the ecosystem, while user and builder activity cooled after March’s breakout month.

Capital and liquidity

  • TVL (USD): +25.1% MoM ($70M → $88M)
  • Stablecoin market cap: +22.6% MoM ($64M → $79M)
The standout signal this month was the rebound in capital across the network, with both TVL and stablecoin liquidity posting strong growth.

Network usage cools, but remains resilient

  • Monthly Active Wallets (MAW): -11.1% MoM (531K → 472K)
  • Total wallets: +0.75% MoM (50.29M → 50.67M)
  • Transactions: +1.17% MoM (3.51B → 3.55B cumulative)

While active wallets declined, transaction growth remained positive, indicating the network maintained a strong baseline of utility even after March’s acceleration.

Builder activity cools after March spike

  • Contracts deployed: -4.2% MoM (484K → 463K)
  • New assets created: -38.7% MoM (28K → 17K)

Builder activity pulled back from March’s unusually high levels, but overall deployment numbers remained broadly consistent with recent months.

Decentralization and security update

In April 2026, Algorand continued progress on decentralization and network security, with total ALGO staked steadily at over 2 billion. The community now accounts for 81.2% of the stake, while the Foundation’s share is 18.8%.

Algorand tokenomics

At the end of April, ALGO’s circulating supply reached 8.91 billion, representing 89.1% of the total maximum supply. This marks a 0.2% increase from March.

Staking rewards and network fees

In April, Algorand validators earned 6.62 million ALGO in staking rewards, -3.9% MoM, while fees collected rose 7.8% (from 44K to 47K ALGO).

The chart below illustrates the monthly evolution of reward distribution alongside fee generation.
