We wanted to share some exciting news and updates:
- The Foundation offset 286 tCO₂, its 2023 carbon footprint, with ClimateTrade. You can see the data on chain via allo.info and view the certificate.
- The Plateau State Government in Nigeria is collaborating with the Foundation to develop pilots of multiple blockchain use cases.
- The first Algorand Assembly of 2024 took place. The team talked about key initiatives, including NFT programs, upcoming events, global hackathons, and community strategy. Watch now.

Important developer updates:
- The backend service for the Algorand randomness beacon has now been migrated and will be maintained by the Foundation. What this means: if your application uses the Algorand randomness beacon, please update your app to call the new smart contracts, as listed here:
- TestNet smart contract application ID: 600011887
- MainNet smart contract application ID: 1615566206

- Boost your multichain dApp development with the new Algorand API in API Portal.
Meanwhile, around the ecosystem:
- Lavazza’s coffee journey is now traceable on the Algorand blockchain.
- Pera announced some upgrades on its Pera Explorer: Live updates and a Pera NFT Explorer homepage which will include sale history, floor price, and more. Pera also recently added Meld.io as a fresh on-ramp solution.
- HesabPay announced that it is working with the UN World Food Programme Afghanistan to build a cashless payments solution.
- Crowdfunding and grant management platform Cashdillo announced a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme.
- Neomoon, a project revolutionizing financial access in LATAM with easy-to-use dollar accounts, was selected for the Endeavor Miami EndeavorLAB Latinx cohort.
- Web3-powered insurance platform Day By Day wrote in Cointelegraph about how “AI and Web3 technologies innovate RWA insurance.”
- EURD, the programmable electronic money token backed by euros, can now be tracked on DeFiLlama.
- Gora launched the first-ever cross-chain launchpad on Algorand.
- GoPlausible version 4 launched on mainnet.
- Fracctal Monsters and Vestige released 2024 roadmaps.
And in the world of NFTs…
- The Foundation commissioned the Bambino Project to create five dragon-themed NFTs to celebrate the Chinese New Year. All 4,400 NFTs were claimed by collectors on EXA Market.
- Goanna launched the GOAN token, a few days after Goanna NFT holders claimed the token through a GoPlausible airdrop. Read Goanna’s blog: “Stepping Closer to Decentralization.”
- NFT-related product studio Shufl Labs announced a strategic funding round backed by Borderless Capital. Shufl Labs portfolio includes Al Goanna, shufl and treefund.io.
- Build-A-Bull hackathon finalist Aurally, an NFT marketplace for musicians, launched at Incredible Music Festival with Algorand Nigeria.
- The Foundation and EXA Market hosted an NFT PARIS side event at NFT Factory, which featured an IRL NFT gallery filled with Algorand NFTs. Also, EXA Market announced that EXA v2 is coming soon.
Calling Algorand governors!
- The GP10 voting session is now open. There are 18 proposals on the ballot for governors to consider. Vote now.
- xGov voting session 3 is also open. Visit the xGov Portal to view proposals and vote if you are part of term pools 1, 2, and 3.
- Look over the blueprint for the next iteration of the xGov platform. Please leave comments and feedback to support us with the platform’s evolution.
